In southern Africa, there were a variety of cultures that came together and created a multitude of ideals. Art, dance, and music were some of the topics that were subject to change in the matter on new immigrants. Art forms have been the strongest link to the ancestors of the land. Types of food played a huge role in most African cultures, except the British invaders. Things like food and traditions would bond communities in close living quarters in Africa. Cultural norms would bring similar people together, while driving out and segregating other people.
Areas in southern Africa were under attack during this time period. There were stronger countries trying to find land, take over, and expand their beliefs while crushing the ideals of other cultures. Slave culture was prominent up until the 1880s, but the affects were still taking over the countries (Forum). Trauma as monumental as these events would shake up and change a country along with all the natives stand for. Most of the natives were calm and peaceful until forced to change their way of life by an outside force. But wouldn't anyone be aggravated if they were forced to modify their past culture?
